Avoid Intel GMA 4500 Laptops / Notebook, It Doesn’t Support QE / CI Graphic Acceleration – Not Good For Hackintosh Laptop Install

I recently purchased an HP 620 laptop for a family member. It had an Intel Pentium Dual Core processor, 4GB of RAM however the graphic adapter was an integrated Intel GMA 4500.
I originally thought that this laptop would be a great candidate for a Hackintosh Mac OS X install, but I was dead wrong. It seems that the Intel GMA 4500, 4500x, 4500 HD integrated video for laptops / notebooks does not support QE / CI at all, there is absolutely no kext (driver) for it for either Mac OS X Leopard 10.5.x or Snow Leopard.10.6.x.

Installed Kalyway 10.5.2 Hackintosh on a Toshiba Sattelite P200-RT1 17-inch Laptop

Toshiba laptops with Intel processors are pretty good candidates for a hackintosh laptops. One of the reasons for this is because they use the Intel Chipsets and graphics that most hackintosh OS X distributions work with out of the box.

Ask yourself, if you can build a powerful Quad Core Intel CPU computer with 4 GB of RAM, and powerful NVidia Graphics running Mac OS X Leopard natively for less than $500 why wouldn't you? A similar specification from Apple for a Mac Pro desktop starts at $2499 on the Apple website.
